Steve Marnoch continues doing what he set out to do as a child: designing golf courses. Here are some current projects.

The Mere Golf Resort, Cheshire

Bunker and surrounds redesigns and upgrades on historic James Braid course for Select Group A.E. To be operated by Fairmont Hotels and Resorts.

Heelsum Golf Club, The Netherlands

Creation of a classic heathland on an established 27-hole course. I have been on a constant retainer agreement ever since 2008. This resulted in the course being ranked No. 15 in the country with plans to rationalise the layout and add two new holes in 2026.

Pike Fold GC, North Manchester

Another long-standing relationship where I designed the original 9-holes in 1997, added another 9-holes in 2008 and now the course is impacted by the widening of the M60. This involves detailed negotiations with National Highways regarding current safety margins for golf courses, golf course compensation and internal course redesign.

Puttentham GC, Surrey

Course alterations to improve safety margins on this historic heathland.

Chevin GC, Derbyshire

Course improvements, including bunkers, surrounds, drainage, overall landscaping and course presentation, along with heathland restoration, has led to a retainer agreement providing the Club with annual guidance.

Easingwold GC, York

Course upgrading, bunker and surrounds redesign.
Drainage advice and course presentation alongside a complete heathland restoration now in its 2nd year.

Matlock GC, Derbyshire

Completed 4 year bunker upgrade, including surround reshaping and a total heathland restoration on this Tom Williamson original.

South Shields GC, Tyne and Wear

Full course audit looking at bunkers, surrounds, course presentation, and landscaping potential on this historic Braid/Mckenzie course.
